Be Still My Soul

Song by Jean Sibelius

Be still my soul the Lord is always with thee
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain
Leave to thy God to comfort and to cheer thee
In every change He faithful remains.

Be still my soul, the heavenly friend will steer thee
Thru’ thorny ways to his own domains.

Be still my soul, the hour is hastening on
When disappointment, grief and fear are gone
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored
Be still my soul, when change and tears are past
All safe and blessed we shall rest at last.

Be still, my soul, the Lord is always with thee
Amen, amen.

Here’s the Nordic Male Choir Festival in Harpa Reykjavík Concert Hall, May 14th 2016 – a great male choir  singing the vocals of Be Still My Soul

Now, here is how it will sound at the Festival. The words refer to the original “Finlandia” poem expressing national feeling against Russian domination.

This is a really beautiful video  – be patient! the choral music starts after about 5 minutes.
