Supported Charities

The choir supports a number of charities, which are the recipients of money collected from our concert programme. Charities are reviewed and selected annually by the Executive Committee and the whole choir.

The charities that are currently supported by the choir are:

StreetWork

National Braille Music Camp

StreetWork is a Sydney based charity helping young people aged between 11 and 18 who are “at risk”. Their aim is to break the cycle of crime, violence, destructive family relationships, rejection and isolation, learning difficulties, poor employment opportunities and substance abuse that affect many young people in Australia today.

The Australian Braille Authority organises the National Braille Music Camp, an annual residential camp for braille readers who love music and wish to learn, improve or teach braille music. Running for more than 30 years, the camp offers lessons in reading braille music and concludes with a concert, always of a high standard.
