The choir supports a number of charities, which are the recipients of money collected from our concert programme. Charities are reviewed and selected annually by the Executive Committee and the whole choir.
The charities that are currently supported by the choir are:
StreetWork is a Sydney based charity helping young people aged between 11 and 18 who are "at risk". Their aim is to break the cycle of crime, violence, destructive family relationships, rejection and isolation, learning difficulties, poor employment opportunities and substance abuse that affect many young people in Australia today.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation was established in 1994 to promote and support breast cancer research in all its forms. To date, the foundation has allocated over $21.0 million dollars to almost 100 breast cancer research projects and six scholarships throughout Australia. The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is a not-for-profit foundation established to promote and support breast cancer research in all its forms.
The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) is the national body for prostate cancer in Australia. The PCFA plays a vital role in the fight against prostate cancer and devotes all of it resources towards reducing the impact of prostate cancer on the community.
The National Braille Music Camp Association organises an annual residential camp for braille readers who love music and wish to learn, improve or teach braille music. Running for 28 years, the camp offers lessons in reading braille music and concludes with a concert, always of a high standard.
